ITALIAN FOUNTAIN in Ariccia, Castelli Romani hills near Rome. This watercolour was done plein air in the piazza. This is one of our favourite stops for a cappuccino or an evening Aperol Spritz. Situated on the rim of a volcanic lake with views to the Mediterranean sea, what better place to chat with the locals and enjoy the sounds of the fountain splashing in the beautiful baroque piazza.

The painting is a subtle mix of turquoise blues, naples yellows and soft pink. Neutral tones and white dominate the scene to make this adaptable to any decor theme. The antique atmosphere glows with radiant light only seen in Italy.
