Leanne Talbot Nowell

About

Hello I’m Leanne, welcome.

I am South African but have lived in Rome, Italy for the long time with my husband Simon. We have five children and three grandchildren. They all live in different parts of the world, so we travel to visit them when we can.

Living in the quaint Medieval village of Marino, just 30 kms south of the Colosseum, is a daily adventure. You can see some of my illustrated blogs about our street in lockdown.

Watercolours are my favorite medium at the moment. They are a spontaneous and simple to use, especially easy to carry and use while travelling.

It all began with illustrations in my travel diaries. Quickly and haphazardly done, without much skill. But with some practice they have become quite a joy.

Compared to the oils and pastels of my past work, the watercolours have loosened up my style. Especially for landscapes and florals.

You may have seen the prints and patterns page. Examples of my latest repeating designs. Mostly florals for printing on papers and fabrics, or for use as digital backgrounds on your webpage etc. I have a diploma in Textile design.

All the images are high resolution @ 300dpi for excellent print quality.

Take a look at my illustrated cycling tour across Europe on the blog page. Follow along the 4200 kms from Marino to Oslo.
